Why We Need You
With only a staff of three, we rely on thousands of hours of volunteer time to complete our work. NewThreads needs volunteers to assist us with:
- Sorting of clothing, household goods and educational items
- Cutting tags and labels off each and every piece of clothing and bedding item
- Inventory support
- Boxing and preparing goods for donation to agencies
- Warehouse activities
- Office and fundraising assistance (grant writer, newsletter, data entry, researcher, and other activities)

Volunteer FAQ's
- Over 7,000 volunteer hours needed per year
- What to wear: weather appropriate comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes.
- Rescheduling for rain: No, all activities are inside our warehouse.
- When to arrive: 10-15 minutes prior to your shift.
- Are weekend or evening times available: No, NewThreads is closed on weekends, and morning shifts start at 9:00 am and end at noon.
- Age limit: You must be at least 13 years of age to volunteer. Those 13 - 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
